An Amadeus PNR Build is the process of creating a complete Passenger Name Record (PNR) in the Amadeus GDS assembling all mandatory and optional data elements required to hold a confirmed airline booking that can be ticketed. A PNR is the master record that ties together the passenger, the itinerary, the fare and the ticket.
Every confirmed flight booking in the world, whether made by a travel agent, an OTA or an AI booking engine creates a PNR. In Amadeus, a PNR has five mandatory fields known as PIANO elements. Without all five, the booking cannot be saved or ticketed.
P : Passenger Name: NM1SHARMA/RAHUL MR
I : Itinerary: Flight segment (sell command SS1Y1)
A : Agency Contact: Phone or email element
N : Ticketing Information: TK element (TKOK or TKTL15NOV)
O — Received From: RF element with agent name
When an OTA or booking engine processes a customer's flight selection, the Amadeus Enterprise API automatically builds the PNR in sequence - selling the seat, adding passenger names, inserting contact details, and storing the fare all within seconds and without any agent touching a cryptic terminal.
